DESCRIPTION

This high school level educational center lacked some identity as a school building.  Many locals referred to it as a factory or warehouse. The challenge set forth by WCTC was to design a 7,200 square foot addition and renovate an additional 5,000 square feet of the existing space that would fulfill program requirements and give the school the identity that it really needed.  Three distinct entrances were added for the business, administrative and culinary arts areas.  A new kitchen and café/assembly area, classrooms, accessible toilets, computer labs, and renovation of the existing administration area are a bulk of the improvements.  The design succeeds in establishing distinct areas for each discipline within the school and translating that distinction to the public at large through the new façade.
